Nancy Gohring
|
Nancy Gohring is an IDG News Service correspondent based in Seattle, WA. She covers mobile phones, Microsoft and technology companies in the Pacific Northwest.
Gohring has been following the mobile industry for over ten years, writing about notable developments such as the highly contested U.S. spectrum auction in the late 1990s, the rise and fall of multiple broadband wireless industries and the advent of Wi-Fi as a community and corporate networking standard.
Prior to joining the News Service, Gohring freelanced for several years, contributing to publications including the Seattle Times, the New York Times, Wired News, Wireless Week, eWeek and InfoWorld. She spent several months temporarily on staff in the Seattle Times business news room and was a contributor to the highly-regarded Wi-Fi Networking News blog.
Before branching off on her own, Gohring served as wireless telecom reporter for Interactive Week and previously Telephony magazine. At both publications she wrote a regular column commenting on important industry events.
She has been quoted in the New York Times and featured on CNN as a wireless expert.
Gohring has lived most of her life in the U.S. but spent a year previously in Bulgaria and has lived in Dublin as well. Her hobbies include traveling, sailing and reading.
