Lore Harp McGovern, a successful entrepreneur, is the Chairman of the Board of Associates, Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT. Mrs. Harp McGovern also is instrumental in advising the strategic direction of several high-tech companies and serves as the director of filmsOn.com. She currently sits on the Board of Advisors for Women.com, Blue Pumpkin Software and Skillsvillage.com. Mrs. Harp McGovern is an active member of the Band of Angels in San Francisco and in the San Francisco chapter of the Committee of 200.

Previously, Mrs. Harp McGovern was the President and CEO of Good Morning Teacher! Publishing over 750 educational titles from K-12, and consumer oriented educational materials for the 4-8 year olds, the company successfully sold in 1999 to an educational publisher.

In 1985, Mrs. Harp Govern founded Aplex Corporation to design and develop products for the feminine hygiene market. Due to her significant contributions, she holds patents for two inventions. Mrs. Harp McGovern sold the marketing rights in 1989.

Mrs. Harp McGovern co-founded the Pacific Technology Venture Fund in 1981. She directed the firm from 1983-1985 with offices in Tokyo and San Francisco, CA.

In 1976, Mrs. Harp McGovern co-founded Vector Graphic Inc., one of the first pioneering microcomputer companies. After raising venture capital, she initiated a successful public offering in 1981 and grew company to over $50 million in sales.

Mrs. Harp McGovern is the Former Director of the American Electronics Association, Montgomery Ventures, Women's Campaign Fund and Network Telemetrics Inc. She was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in 1983.

She is graduate of California State University, Los Angeles and has an MBA from Pepperdine University.
