Publication Profile:
CIO is the magazine for business-smart ICT leaders. In the 10 years since CIO began publishing, the role of the CIO and its importance to the ICT supplier has evolved greatly. The CIO is the most senior person responsible for ICT in an organization and is responsible for signing off on virtually every major ICT project, but now, the role calls for CIOs to be business leaders, not just technology leaders. The new role is about the application of technology to business and leveraging ICT assets to achieve business outcomes, rather than the technical aspects of a particular project. CIO is the only publication in New Zealand dedicated to the unique information needs of this group of senior ICT-dedicated executives. For organizations who sell their products and services into the enterprise space, CIO is an essential component of the marketing mix. The editor, Divina Paredes, was a winner of the NZ Hi-Tech Journalist of the Year award at the 2006 PWC New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards and Best Magazine Feature Writer ICT at the 2007 Qantas Media Awards. The magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board reads like a who’s who of senior ICT figures in New Zealand, and this group guides the editorial direction of the magazine. Members include the technology heads of the largest ICT users in the country: Fonterra, Telecom, NZ Defence Force and the University of Auckland, as well as many others. Their input ensures that CIO is always as relevant and useful as possible to their peers — the people responsible for purchasing your technologies and services. CIO New Zealand was first published December 1, 1988. Advertising Information: Where to Subscribe: Publication Web Site:
