Michael Kan

Michael Kan is a correspondent based in Beijing and covers a wide range of technology topics dealing with China and Taiwan.

He joined IDG News Service in July 2010 after having worked as a freelancer in China writing about various topics, including archaeology. He previously worked as a news reporter with The Kansas City Star from 2006 to 2008, covering local city government and school district news.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and double majored in history and Asian studies.
