IDG Names Pres., Prin and Online

International Data Group has promoted Bob Carrigan to the newly created position of president, IDG Communications, IDG's print and online division. He will oversee publishing of most of the company's bigger consumer magazines including Computerworld and PC World, as well as those produced by IDG's CXO Media, which publishes CIO, CSO and CMO magazines. He will also serve its IDG Entertainment group, publisher of GamePro and Star Wars Insider. Before his promotion, Carrigan had been Computerworld president and CEO for the past two years. A replacement has not yet been named. "IDG's leading position in technology media, research, events and venture investing and its vast global businesses requires a dedicated president in the U.S.," said IDG CEO Pat Kenealy. "Bob provides leadership across media properties with responsibility for bringing together resources and programs to meet customer needs."International Data Group publishes over 300 technology-related publications and produces over 170 events worldwide.
