Laos to organise world communication expo

Laos and the International Data Group (IDG) will hold the 2005 World Communication Expo in Vientiane from Dec. 5-7 this year, according to a press conference held by the Lao Ministry of Communication, Transport, Posts and Construction on Oct. 27. The exhibition entitled "Creating strong networks and IT", will introduce advanced IT equipment and networks. A communication conference, to be held at the same time, will exchange experiences and information on IT development in the world in general, and in Laos in particular. The conference will also discuss a strategy to develop a wireless communication system, a new trend in developing mobile phone services, and cooperation in communication and postal services, as well as other advanced information technology.
