Macworld, CES Dates To Overlap In 2007
Technology analysts and investors typically start the new year by hustling between the Consumer Electronics Show and the Macworld Expo, just days apart in different cities. The two shows offer a useful glimpse of products expected on the market in coming months, and the rush to CES in Las Vegas and Macworld in San Francisco is seen as a necessary pilgrimage. The schedule for the two 2007 shows will make next year's trip more difficult: both begin on Jan. 8 and run most of the week. Representatives of CES and International Data Group, which produces Macworld, say the timing of their events is a contractual issue with the halls where the shows are held. Mike Sponseller, a spokesman at IDG, said the company is not considering changing the 2007 date for Macworld. "Our audience is mostly different in terms of exhibitors and attendees," he said.
