Corporate Security Chiefs Favor Bush
The latest poll of corporate chief security officers shows President Bush leading Sen. John Kerry as the candidate most likely to do the best job protecting the nation. But the CSO Magazine poll, provided today to the Bulletin and U.S. News, finds that many security executives believe that Bush hasn't done enough to stop terrorism. The poll finds Bush far ahead, with 51 percent to 19 percent for Kerry, in the vital category of who would better protect the country. Some 29 percent are unsure and 3 percent picked Ralph Nader. The poll recipients include major corporate security and IT security officials. "Security is a white hot issue," said the magazine's editor Lew McCreary. Asked if they thought a terrorist act would occur before the election, 68 percent of those polled said it is likely but only 20 percent said that they are making special preparations for an attack.
