S'pore ready for next tech breakthroughs - IDG chief

International Data Group is beefing up its investments and headcount in the region, company chairman Patrick McGovern tells Raju Chellam. Singapore's foresight and agility will enable it to take advantage of the next technology breakthroughs, predicts Patrick McGovern, founder and chairman of International Data Group (IDG), a research and publishing conglomerate that owns research powerhouse IDC Corp. Noting the country's earlier success in hard disk drive manufacturing, then again in developing a dynamic infotech industry, Mr McGovern said that these factors could well reap huge benefits from biotech in the future.
