IDG: Existing Resources Key to Launch in India
India is a huge market, particularly for technology products, and one where IDG would have had a subsidiary 20 years ago if it had been allowed under the law, says David Hill, president & CEO of international publishing services, IDG. But it had to settle for licensing relationships with local companies. It was only a year ago that India opened up its doors to allow full ownership of publications, and that applies only to scientific and technical publications. IDG wasted no time. It has established a subsidiary in India and is introducing a new magazine there in June, OutSourcing World. It will be globally distributed with 30,000 controlled circulation.
