Mohamad Ali

Mohamad Ali

CEO

Mohamad Ali was appointed Chief Executive Officer at International Data Group, Inc., the world’s leading technology media, events and research company, in July 2019.

Prior to this role, Mohamad was CEO of Carbonite, a publicly traded data-protection and security firm, where he grew the company’s revenue four-fold, to more than a half-billion dollars in four years. Before that, Mohamad served as Chief Strategy Officer at Hewlett-Packard where he played a pivotal role in the company’s turnaround and led the decision process to split HP into two companies. At IBM, Mohamad acquired and integrated various companies to create the firm’s $8 billion analytics software unit. At Avaya, he oversaw the $2 billion services group and served as head of the company’s research labs.

Mohamad holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering, a B.A. in History and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, all from Stanford University. He serves on the board of iRobot (NASDAQ: IRBT) and was previously on the board of Carbonite (NASDAQ: CARB) and City National Bank (NYSE: CYN).

Mohamad was honored as 2018 CEO of the Year by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, was a member of the 2018 Public Board of the Year by The National Association of Corporate Directors New England, was named a 2011 All-Star by Massachusetts High Tech magazine, was named a 2008 40 Under 40 honoree by Boston Business Journal, and was a finalist in America’s prestigious 1988 National Science Talent Search.

President

Crawford Del Prete was appointed President of IDC in February 2019. Prior to his current role, he served as IDC’s Chief Operating Officer. Through his leadership, IDC has established a leading position as the world’s most prominent and trusted technology market intelligence provider.

Crawford joined IDC in 1989 as a research analyst. Throughout his IDC career, he has grown multiple IDC businesses to industry leadership positions. He was instrumental in creating IDC’s high-visibility research and data tracking products, which are used daily in the IT industry for strategic planning.

Crawford is a leading authority on the IT industry and has completed extensive research on the structure and evolution of the information technology industry. He advises technology and business leaders on how to adapt and change in a time when technology is changing the world. He is frequently quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The New York Times and other leading media sources. He is a regular guest on Bloomberg Technology TV, offering insight and perspective on daily technology events.

Crawford was awarded The Patrick J. McGovern Award for Management Excellence in 2014. In 1995, he was awarded IDC’s James Peacock Award for research excellence, IDC’s highest research honor.

He holds a B.A. from Michigan State University, and in 2012, was named a Distinguished Alumni of the university.

Donna Marr

Donna Marr

Chief Accounting Officer, IDG Corp.

Donna Marr joined IDG as Chief Accounting Officer in September 2017. In addition to her worldwide finance and accounting responsibilities, Donna leads the Corporate team.

Prior to this role, Donna held a senior leadership position at Alex and Ani where she was a critical member of the management team that stabilized the company during its years of hypergrowth. Donna was responsible for the transformation of the finance and accounting organization at Alex and Ani.

Donna is a senior strategic leader, spending the first 23 years of her career in public accounting before transitioning to the corporate environment. She was a partner at Ernst & Young LLP where she led large teams and worked closely with numerous companies in the technology industry. Donna specialized in complex accounting matters as well as critical business needs, such as mergers and acquisitions, and public company reporting requirements. Her experiences range from entrepreneurial, fast-growing private companies to large multinational public corporations.

Donna is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Syracuse University. Donna has been involved in numerous professional organizations and served on the boards of directors for nonprofit organizations including the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association and March of Dimes.

Kumaran Ramanathan

Kumaran Ramanathan

President

Kumaran Ramanathan was appointed President of IDG Communications in October 2017. As a 1st party relationship company, IDG Communications activates and engages the most influential technology buyers with premium brands including CIO, CSO, Computerworld, Network World, InfoWorld, PCWorld and Macworld.

In his previous role at IDG, Kumaran was CEO, IDG Global Services (incorporating IDG Global Solutions, IDG Strategic Marketing Services, IDG Research, U.S. Corporate Sales and International Partner Services). In that capacity, he was responsible for working with IDG’s largest customers, representing the worldwide portfolio across digital media, events, demand generation and marketing services, and focused on delivering a world-class marketing and customer experience.

Before re-joining IDG in October 2010, Kumaran held senior leadership positions at CMP Media, VNU Business Media and Incisive Media. He is a charismatic, highly experienced and exceptional leader, comfortable at both an operational and strategic level with a proven track record of success.

Kumaran is a past recipient of the company’s highest award ― The McGovern Award for Management Excellence ― and has won many highly prized industry awards, including the PPA Brand of the Year, AOP Integrated Media Campaign, Business Superbrand in consecutive years and has been Highly Commended as PPA Publisher of the Year three times.

Kumaran attended Malvern College in the U.K., holds a B.A. in History from The University of Reading and captained the Bromley Cricket Club.
