What customers are willing to give up their email address for these days has drastically changed. Therefore, content needs to be ever more compelling and readily available in order to get them to provide the coveted contact information.

In the past, content was static written information – content 1.0. Then it evolved to be more interactive with eBooks and eNewsletters – content 2.0. And while content 2.0 methods are still effective, there is now a shift toward “content communities” or content 3.0.
