CDW/IDG Enterprise Partnership Proves Fruitful

For several years, we have been producing a broad spectrum of executive events across the United States for and with our strategic partner CDW, a leading provider of integrated information technology solutions in the U.S. and Canada. The event series has rapidly generated high attendee satisfaction scores and reached attendee goals in the face of a highly-competitive technology event space.

CDW and IDG Enterprise developed this regional event series, designed to foster relationships with technology executives by curating content to their specific needs. The Executive Summit Series events brought together technology executives for a short keynote and panel discussion with audience participation, followed by a networking reception. Programs took place at prestigious venues including the Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C., and the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif. More than 70 percent of attendees were either C-suite level executives or information technology directors and managers.

One of the standout aspects of this event series and why it was recently named a winner for the Best Integrated Marketing Program and recognized as a finalist for the Min’s Best Event category is because of how curated content was successfully woven into the event format. Following conversations started at the face-to-face events, IDG Enterprise and CDW collaborated to integrate and synchronize curated content across a range of channels, including topical study results featured in white papers, co-developed tech dossiers, whiteboard animation videos, twitter chats and blogs. As a result, relationships between CDW and tech executives have been strengthened and the event experience is enhanced.

“CDW’s experience in providing innovative IT solutions combined with IDG Enterprise’s deep understanding of the tech audience have been essential to building this thriving event series,” said Derek Hulitzky, VP, Content Development & Strategy at IDG Enterprise. “The collaboration, trust between both organizations has forged this ground-breaking event series that delivers the high-energy and meaningful conversations that elude other event settings and formats. In a very competitive marketplace, we’ve discovered something truly special here that’s delighting attendees and working extremely well for our strategic partner CDW. The successful integration of multiple channels no doubt has had a positive compounding effect on this event series.”

A typical tech purchase requires the downloading of 7 assets on average. By integrating events with quality content, CDW has been able to create a winning combination and shorten the sales cycle. We are proud of this partnership and the opportunities ahead.
