Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, software and services, has joined with CIO to showcase technology executives on topics of industry interest in a multi-media marketing program. The October debut episode of CIO Debate is titled "Innovating for Value and Growth." It features video interviews with Stuart Kippelman, vice president and chief information officer of Covanta Energy and Vince Kellen, chief information officer of University of Kentucky, and examines topics including measuring innovation and developing technology business cases. This month, 'Business Collaboration' will be the featured topic, as examined by Larry Bonfante, chief information officer for the US Tennis Association & US Open and Sam Coursen, chief information officer of Freescale Semiconductor.

The CIO Debate video series is part of a custom, multi-media site titled "The Premier Thought Leadership Forum for Today's Global IT Executives," sponsored by Avaya. In addition to the interviews, there are research findings from 'State of the CIO Report, 2010,' a study conducted by CIO, as well as a podcast on the role of CIOs in innovation based on research among members of the CIO Executive Council. The website also includes an Avaya Resource Center and an area to comment and share information via social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Digg.

Comprehensive Marketing to IT Professionals

CIO, and sister brand Computerworld, in conjunction with Avaya, have organized executive dinners that began last summer and continue into this fall across a dozen cities in the US. The initial dinners provided content for a co-branded white paper produced by the IDG Enterprise Custom Solutions group and syndicated to cio.com and computerworld.com.
