Courtney Munroe Joins IDC Telecommunications Research As New Director Of Business Network Services
FRAMINGHAM, MA, July 20, 1998 — IDC has named Courtney Munroe as their new Director, Business Network Services. Mr. Munroe was recruited by IDC to enhance its research and consulting services focused on corporate demand for voice, data, Internet and value-added telecommunications. Business Network Services is the market leader in identifying and analyzing emerging telecommunications markets such as IP VPNs, Internet telephony, managed security services, frame relay, integrated multiservice networks, etc.

Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Munroe was a vice president at Probe Research where he directed research programs on US and global competitive service markets for local, long distance, wireless and video services. Other relevant experience includes research and management positions at Northern Business Information, where he managed the production of regional telecommunications service reports that covered North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America over a seven year period. Earlier, Mr. Munroe worked at DRI/McGraw-Hill, an economic forecasting company, and at Paine Webber.
Mr. Munroe has delivered numerous presentations on telecommunications industry trends around the world. In particular, Mr. Munroe has been the featured speaker at the annual Telecommunications Association of Japan global telecommunications seminar in Tokyo in 1994-1996, and 1998.
Mr. Munroe combines a background in economics with telecommunications industry expertise, giving him the breadth to drive sophisticated and insightful research. He has an BA in Economics from Columbia University and has attended the University of Wisconsin.
