DEMO 09 Conference to Broadcast Live and Facilitate Worldwide Community Interaction; BitGravity’s BG Live(TM) to Power Live Stream across the Web to Extend DEMO’s Reach Globally; Facebook(R) Live Feed Technology to Enable Broadcast Viewers and Conference Attendees to Connect and Engage with Each Other Throughout the Show

FRAMINGHAM, MA – FEBRUARY 27, 2009 – The DEMO conference, known as the launch pad for emerging technologies, today announced that it will broadcast its upcoming DEMO 09 event live on the Web using BitGravity's BG Live(TM) highly-scalable flash-based video stream service. DEMO also announced today that through Facebook's Live Feed technology, broadcast viewers will be able to connect and engage with each other while watching the latest class of companies selected to launch their new product innovations on the DEMO stage. In addition, a new series of DEMObeat panel discussions taking place at DEMO 09 and hosted by new Co-Executive Producer, Matt Marshall, CEO of VentureBeat will display the Facebook Live Feed on screen in the DEMO ballroom so that conference attendees can interact with their peers watching the live feed around the world.

The broadcast will begin at 8:30 AM PST on March 2 and March 3 and can be seen at http://www.demo.com/live.

Whether watching the stream online or attending the conference in Palm Desert, each user will be able to update their Facebook status directly from the DEMO 09 Live player and also see and comment on status updates posted by friends and other Facebook users tuning in to the broadcast. Status updates posted on the Live Feed will be published in the user's Facebook News Feed with a link tagged back to the DEMO 09 Live stream, so friends can click the tag and watch the stream while participating in the conversation.

"We want to extend our reach and offer our global community the highest quality live stream and social experience," said Chris Shipley, Executive Producer, DEMO Conferences. "As BitGravity launched its live streaming capability last year, we were able to provide a limited broadcast of the DEMO event. Now, we are very excited to have the company back at DEMO 09 to introduce its high-definition live streaming capability. The quality is outstanding and a real service to our global audience. We're also excited to be leveraging one of the latest innovations from Facebook to power our social community. Incorporating Live Feed into our platform both online and onsite at DEMO 09 brings the worldwide DEMO community together in a rich interactive conversation about the innovations launching on the DEMO stage."

This is the second time DEMO has partnered with former DEMO 08 demonstrator and DEMOgod award winner, BitGravity, to provide high-quality streaming video of the conference. "Our live stream had to be scalable, with global reach, but it also had to be affordable and simple to set up since our technical team at the show is focused primarily on ensuring our demonstrator companies are ready to launch," said Neal Silverman, Executive Vice President of Network World and DEMO. "With BitGravity, we knew we were getting an exceptional quick-start video experience with no buffering, only a few seconds latency, and no client download required."

The combined power of BitGravity's live stream and Facebook's Live Feed technology puts the innovative companies selected to participate in DEMO 09 on the world stage.

The DEMO 09 conference is being held on March 1-3 in Palm Desert, California. Register to attend at http://www.demo.com. Stay connected with DEMO on Facebook at http://www.demo.com/fbdemo.
