Exclusive Tickets to Webby Awards(R) 2000 Will Be Auctioned Online to Benefit Historical San Francisco Landmark

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – MAY 1, 2000 – The Webby Awards(R) 2000 ( today announced that it donated two tickets to the Nob Hill Association for the 4th Annual Webby Awards, this year's highly anticipated, star-studded event celebrating the most extraordinary talent on the Web. The tickets for the May 11th event will be auctioned on eBay(TM) and proceeds will be given to the Nob Hill Foundation restoration project that is currently working to raise $200,000 to restore the glorious "Fountain of the Tortoises". The fountain and Huntington Park serve as the centerpiece for the Webby Awards post celebration.

Joining forces on the restoration project are the The Nob Hill Association, the San Francisco Arts Commission, the community of Nob Hill and The Webby Awards in addition to countless sponsors, helping to raise funds for the restoration of this exquisite landmark. The bronze and marble fountain is a 1910 exact reproduction of the original in Piazza Mattei, Rome, Italy and was donated to San Francisco more than 40 years ago.

Widely hailed as "the Oscars of the Internet," The Webby Awards are the leading international honors for Web sites. The awards are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a diverse, 350-person organization whose members include David Bowie, Francis Ford Coppola, Robin Williams, Julia Child and Esther Dyson.

More than 3,000 guests will gather atop San Francisco's legendary Nob Hill for the awards show and Alan Cumming will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
