IDC Adds Karsten Weide to New Media and Digital Marketplace Research Tea
FRAMINGHAM, MA – JANUARY 4, 2007 – IDC today announced the addition of Karsten Weide to its Digital Marketplace and New Media research program. As Director of Digital Media and Entertainment research, Weide will lead two IDC programs focusing on the Internet's continuously evolving ecosystem. These programs provide strategic insight into the business models, competitive dynamics, and combinatorial innovations driving today's digital marketplace.

Prior to joining IDC, Weide founded the U.S. affiliate of MediaAnalyzer, a European online market research company specializing in advertising research. In the years before MediaAnalyzer, he published the Internet industry newsletter San Francisco Report and was a management consultant to Internet companies. Previously, Weide led the effort to launch the German operations of Yahoo! as well as Yahoo!'s production in Europe. Prior to Yahoo!, he served as Director of Product Development for Europe Online and established the German-language online services for Ziff-Davis.
Weide is based in IDC's San Mateo, California office.
