IDC Issues G.R.A.D.E. Certification to TechTurn
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – February 2, 2009 – IDC is pleased to announce that it is granting Austin-based TechTurn IDC's Green Recycling and Asset Disposal for the Enterprise (G.R.A.D.E.) certification. IDC’s assessment of the company found that its processes, checks and balances, as well as its compliance to current regulations meet or exceed current enterprise-class IT hardware disposition standards.
As indicated in the IDC report, 2009 G.R.A.D.E. Certification Assessment: TechTurn (Doc #216392), the company's core compliant practices are either on par or surpass the standards currently deployed in or sought after in large organizations. Systems carrying data are handled in manners that comply with the most up-to-date data security rules, while the company's hardware recycling practices adhere to the most recent environmental practices. With ISO certified processes in place, TechTurn managed to build a customer base comprised of Fortune 500 companies, computer makers, and financial institutions that offer IT leasing and financing to their own customers. Furthermore, the company's management team is focused on building an organization based on sustainable growth, with a unique and creative vision on how to achieve such sustainability. As such, IDC is pleased to award TechTurn, G.R.A.D.E certification valid for the year 2009.
"TechTurn’s exclusive focus on ITAD servicing, combined with its compliant processes puts it in a unique place among the pure-play ITAD service providers," said David Daoud, research manager at IDC. "IDC GRADE certification is awarded to TechTurn in recognition for its efforts to build some of the best capabilities in IT asset disposition in the U.S. market, with security, business continuity and environmental stewardship in mind.”
The certification process is based on 34 IT Asset Disposal (ITAD)-related functions and tasks and uses a multi-dimensional weighting system that incorporates the broad offerings of remote applications, onsite services, logistics, in-plant processing, and post treatment. IDC G.R.A.D.E. certification is currently focused on the U.S. market with a view on compliance, sustainability, environmental stewardship, business continuity, and ROI.
