FRAMINGHAM, Mass., November 12, 2013 – Today, IDC welcomes Rajeev Agarwal as a new Research Vice President, supporting the CIO Agenda and Technology Professional’s program. In this new role, Mr. Agarwal’s research will focus on strategic planning and transformation, vendor management, globalization and workforce optimization, governance and metrics, process improvement and automation, and communications, across multiple industries. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Agarwal brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to the team for the benefit of the program’s growing customer base.
Previously, Mr. Agarwal worked at State Street Corporation as Senior Vice-President, Information Technology, where he institutionalized globalization, drove the project management office (PMO), led the roll-out of the bank's LEAN program, and launched a critical-to-quality (CTQ) metrics program. He has also held management positions in Finance and Operations at Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computers, and Intel Corporation.
According to Joseph Pucciarelli, Vice President and IT Executive Advisor, “An astonishing 67.1% of IT spending by enterprise-class organizations is with external services providers, software and equipment companies, making vendor management practices a foundational organizational competency. As an experienced practitioner, Mr. Agarwal further expands IDC's ability to support clients as they reskill their teams to optimize this changing IT operating model.”
Mr. Agarwal holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton Business School and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
