IDC’s Software as a Service Summit to Explore How SaaS Can Rapidly Deploy New Applications and Drive Business Innovation
FRAMINGHAM, MA – August 5, 2008 – IDC today announced plans for the Software as a Service Summit West taking place September 17, 2008 at the Hilton in San Francisco.
Building upon the success of the first annual IDC SaaS Summit, which took place last March in New York City, the West Summit brings together senior IT and line of business executives to learn about the opportunities and challenges that software as a service (SaaS) brings to the enterprise.
"SaaS is increasingly becoming the solution to improve innovation and lower costs. Mixed service deployments (on-premise plus on-demand), data integration, resource availability, scale, and application integration are key issues that are top of mind,” said Robert Mahowald. director, On-Demand and SaaS Research at IDC. “By talking to user firms to learn business requirements, and to vendors to determine service capabilities, you get a sense of the broad SaaS landscape that is emerging, and the IDC SaaS Summit provides the unique opportunity to do just that.”
Using first hand experiences from IDC analysts and end user case studies, attendees will hear presentations on: "The Next Generation of Products and Services Beyond 2008"; "The End of Standalone SaaS: Understanding the Risks of SaaS"; "Transitioning to a SaaS Environment: Lessons Learned around the SaaS Evaluation and Selection Process"; and "SaaS Integration: The Final Frontier."
The outstanding speaker line-up includes senior executives from Akamai Technologies, Aria Systems, Inc , Aviall Services, Boston Private Wealth Management Group, Golden Gate University, Heidelberg, IDC, OpSource, Motorola, TACWorldWide, The Schumacher Group, and United Way America.
Sponsors and Partners of the IDC Software as a Service Summit are: Akamai Technologies, Aria Systems, Inc., Cisco/Webex, Microsoft Corporation, OpSource, WebRoot Software, Inc., and IT Toolbox.
