IDG and Infopro Announce Strategic Alliance
BOSTON and TAIPEI, Taiwan – MAY 18, 2000 – International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading IT media and information services company, today announced a strategic alliance with the Infopro Group, Taiwan's leading IT media company. The alliance is expected to strengthen and expand IDG's position in the Taiwan market.
Under the terms of the agreement, IDG will become a shareholder in Infopro, which will acquire licensing rights from IDG to publish Taiwan Computerworld, PC World Taiwan and related online services in Taiwan. The two companies also agreed to cooperate in other publishing activities across Asia, including venture capital investments in Chinese-language IT online services.

As a result of the alliance, Infopro now has a unique and commanding position among Taiwan IT media companies. In addition to the newly acquired publishing licenses for Taiwan Computerworld and PC World Taiwan, Infopro also publishes licensed editions of PC Magazine Taiwan, PC Week Taiwan and Electronic Engineering Times Taiwan.
