IDG Launches GameStar Magazine In Germany; IDG Continues To Expand Global Publishing Product Lines

BOSTON, Nov. 18, 1997 — International Data Group (IDG), the world's leading information technology (IT) media, research, and exposition company, strengthened its international leadership position today with the announcement of its newest publication, GameStar Germany.

IDG is the game industry's leading global publisher, with eight publications worldwide including Game Software in Asia/Pacific; Attack Games Sweden, GamePro Greece, GameStar Germany, and Playstation Pro in Europe; Super Game Power Brazil in Latin America; and GamePro Magazine and PC Games in North America.

GameStar is geared toward computer game players ages 14 to 28, with the heaviest readership concentration — 38% — in the 15 to 19 age bracket. GameStar editorial content focuses on the environment of PC games with a comprehensive editorial format that includes news, tips, tricks, and reviews of tests and games. The 300,000 game players who read GameStar each month enjoy its clear style and topical news as well as its reliable purchase advice and extensive previews.
