IDG Launches its Syndication Network with Several Dozen Web Sites ; IDG Consumer and Tech Enthusiasts News and Information Distributed to Media Sites Nationwide Through Mochila

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – February 5, 2009 – IDG has added 44 sites to its syndication network, launched last month, via a partnership with Mochila. IDG is distributing articles, video, and photos to sites including latimes.com, chicagotribune.com, Tampa Bay Online, and denverpost.com. The Tribune Company's Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune are among the most visited newspaper sites in the country.

Editorial content – from gadget and computer reviews to news for gamers and buying guides – is being culled from IDG media brands including PC World, Macworld, Computerworld and GamePro. Media General, serving the southeastern U.S., is providing IDG content to nearly two dozen of its newspaper and TV station websites, including tbo.com, inrich.com and journalnow.com.

“Our syndication network is an important part of IDG’s ‘beyond our borders’ initiative that delivers award-winning editorial and information to a broad audience,” said Peter Longo, CEO, IDG Syndication and Networks. “The combination of syndication with the established IDG TechNetwork and IDG’s media brands is a powerful platform for advertisers looking to reach IT and business professionals to consumers and gamers.”

In addition to news sites, Topix and Imaginova's LiveScience will be integrating the IDG personal technology section into their sites. Unique monthly visitors total nearly 40 million including Topix that has averaged approximately 6.5 million unique visitors during the last quarter of 2008, according to comScore.

IDG’s TechNetwork (www.idgtechnetwork.com) sales force is selling ad space, video ads, and custom sponsorships for the syndication program. Advertising revenue will be shared between the media partner, Mochila, and IDG. In addition to syndication ad sales, the IDG TechNetwork also represents non-IDG publishers to advertisers and sponsors.

"IDG's venerable brands represent the most well-respected Web sites and publications in the tech space," said Carolyn Bekkedahl, President, Chief Revenue Officer, Mochila (www.mochila.com)." We are very excited that Mochila will help IDG broaden its audience reach, and at the same time, share their rich content and premium advertising with our network of top-notch publishers."
