IDG Media Brands Win Five Neal Editorial Awards ; Computerworld, CSO, and Macworld Honored

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – March 27, 2009 – International Data Group (IDG), the leading technology media company, has earned five Neal Awards at the annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards. Computerworld and CSO each won two awards and Macworld one at a ceremony last week in New York.

For online editorial excellence, Computerworld won for Best Article or Series in sites with monthly unique visitors of more than 400,000 and CSO took first place in the same category but for sites with fewer than 100,000 unique visitors. Computerworld was recognized for “100 Best Places to Work in IT in 2008.” CSO, the media outlet for chief security officers, won a Neal for its “CSO Disclosure Series,” a report on how states have different laws requiring companies to notify customers in the event of a data breach.

Computerworld won The Best Blog award for sites with more than 400,000 unique monthly visitors for “Apple Ink”, which features commentaries on Apple products and applications.

CSO earned a Best Single issue Neal award for its February 2008 edition.

Macworld magazine received Neal recognition in Best How-to Article or Subject-Related Series of How-to Articles for “Empty Your Inbox,” tips on how to organize and manage email.
