IDG World Expo Introduces Online Conference Planner For COMNET 2002
FRAMINGHAM, MA – NOVEMBER 13, 2001 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, announced today that attendees can now personalize their conference schedules and social engagements at COMNET Conference & Expo 2002 with the My COMNET online conference planner. Accessible via the COMNET Conference & Expo website (http://www.comnetexpo.com), My COMNET allows users to plan ahead to make the most of their time at COMNET Conference and Expo, which is scheduled for January 28-31, 2002 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. COMNET will also feature Enterprise Application Summit and ESPWorld for the first time in 2002, offering insight and solutions to enterprise end users who are assessing new applications or considering service providers.
Users of My COMNET can browse and actively search nearly 90 COMNET sessions to develop the educational programs most suited to their needs. The tool alerts users to time conflicts, and session categories are color-coded to make the selection process easier. A special Personal Activity scheduler also allows users to book meetings or times to visit the Expo floor. Users do not need to be registered for COMNET Conference & Expo to use this handy tool.
"My COMNET lets attendees control their own schedules and helps them make the most of their time before they get on-site," said Darrell Baker, vice president, event services, IDG World Expo. "Our research indicated that COMNET attendees wanted more tools to help them make well-informed decisions about how they spend their time at the show. We think they'll find that our online conference planner fits the bill."
Attendees using My COMNET will find plenty of compelling content to fill their calendars. Presenting keynotes at COMNET will be: Ivan Seidenberg, president and co-CEO of Verizon Communications; Wolfgang Kemna, CEO of SAP America, Inc.; Patrick H. Nettles, executive chairman of CIENA Corporation; and Dr. Ian Foster, professor of computer science at the University of Chicago and head of the distributed systems lab in the Argonne National Labs. Show highlights also include Network World's VPN Showdown, moderated by Network World President and Editorial Director John Gallant. COMNET will also feature a town meeting, addressing what's ahead in telecommunications policy and regulations, which will be moderated by Richard Wiley, former chairman of the FCC and senior partner of Wiley, Rein & Fielding.
