IDG World Expo Launches LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in Mexico
MEXICO CITY – December 13, 2004 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced that it will launch LinuxWorld Conference & Expo® in Mexico. The event will be licensed to E.J. Krause & Associates, one of the largest privately owned exhibition management companies in the United States. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in Mexico will be co-located with E.J. Krause’s EXPO COMM MÉXICO, the most important international telecommunications and IT business forum in Mexico. LinuxWorld Mexico is scheduled for February 2006 in Mexico City at Centro Banamex.
In order to promote the LinuxWorld brand and bring the Linux and open source community together prior to the February 2006 date, LinuxWorld in Mexico will be initially launched in the summer of 2005 as a smaller, conference-centric program. LinuxWorld Mexico Summit will take place June 9-10, 2005 in anticipation of the full-scale LinuxWorld Conference & Expo in February 2006.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with IDG World Expo to produce LinuxWorld in Mexico,” said Paul St. Amour, General Director of E.J. Krause de Mexico. “We already have a great event in EXPO COMM MÉXICO, and by adding LinuxWorld to the program, we will be able to bring together the largest amount of technology applications in Mexico under one roof and to form national and international strategic alliances.”
“IDG World Expo has events that reach every corner of the globe, and this license agreement is a perfect fit for us, because Mexico is an important market where technology companies are trying to capture the attention and loyalty of influential buyers,” said David Korse, president and CEO of IDG World Expo. “E.J. Krause is recognized worldwide as a major organizer of exhibitions and conferences, and we are excited to partner with them in this venture. The LinuxWorld brand has had extremely strong growth throughout the world, and we now produce the event 13 countries.”
