IDG’s Accela Communications Builds Studio Optimized for Web Delivery
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – DECEMBER 16, 2002 – Accela Communications, a leading webcast services provider, announces the opening of the AccelaCast Studio(TM), an in-house webcast services studio optimized for web delivery. The on-site studio also provides clients with the ability to rehearse, tape, edit, review, and approve their webcast program in one day – decreasing their production time and dramatically improving the rate of release to the marketplace.
"The opening of our AccelaCast Studio is just another confirmation of the growth we have experienced in developing first-rate webcasts for an increasing number of companies," said Bill Reinstein, President and CEO of Accela Communications. "Now, we are able to push the envelope that much further by having complete control over the production environment to deliver even higher quality programming on the web."
The AccelaCast Studio features digital video inputs to capture content directly into a non-linear editing environment, making it ready for web delivery. Kevin Cronin, Sr. Producer/Studio Production Manager commented, "every piece of equipment is optimized for web delivery, enabling our producers to get the most performance out of content captured on tape, which is not always what you find in a studio. Many studios are ready to broadcast Tom Brokaw via satellite, but are not optimized for delivering content on the web."
The new studio includes a full suite of robotic cameras decreasing distraction and noise on the set, and due to the automation, there is less room for error during taping. Professional backdrops, an attached control room, editing suite and a presenter's lounge are also part of the set up.
"As a partner to Accela Communications, we are thrilled to have the AccelaCast Studio at our disposal. It's a wonderful, state of the art facility designed from the ground-up for the webcast experience. It has a team of people who know that environment, and can deliver a terrific show and we love that," said John Gallant, President and Editorial Director of Network World.
