IDG’s Computerworld And CXO Media Appoints Marth Connors To VP/ General Manager Of Online
FRAMINGHAM, MA – MAY 24, 2006—IDG’s Computerworld and CXO Media Inc. (publisher of CIO, and CSO magazines), announce the appointment of Martha Connors to VP/General Manager of Online for both organizations. Joining Computerworld in 2005, Connors is credited with increasing Computerworld.com’s unique visitors by nearly 40% and page views by 25% in the past year. In her new role, Connors will manage the online operations team and drive strategy and direction for Computerworld.com, CIO.com and CSOonline.com. Separate and dedicated editorial and sales teams will be maintained for each brand.
Connors’s appointment comes at a time of extraordinary growth and expansion for all three brands. Computerworld.com, coming off two back-to-back years of +30% revenue growth, recently revealed a web redesign and new content model. CSO’s online revenue is up 98% (first half FY 06 vs. first half FY 05). And with online revenue +74% (first half FY06 over first half FY05) and unique visitors +25% (first half FY06 vs. last half FY05), CIO.com is building new tools for its online advertisers, including a RSS ad creation tool that allows clients to link RSS feeds to their ads and continuously update their ad content and messaging.

Prior to joining Computerworld in 2005, Connors worked for ten years at Technology Review, starting out as circulation director and working up to Executive Vice President/COO with responsibility for all operations including online, human resources and circulation. During her tenure, she launched Technology Review online–one of the first 10 publications on the web–and played an instrumental role in transforming the magazine from a small publication to a leading independent media company. Connors earned her BA in English and Journalism from the University of Massachusetts.
