IDG’s InfoWorld E-Business 100 Supplement Highlights E-Business “Best Practices”

SAN MATEO,CA — OCTOBER 11. 2000 — IDG’s InfoWorld today announced the InfoWorld E-Business 100, a special InfoWorld supplement identifying and profiling 10 companies that have dramatically improved their business models through successful e-business strategies. Formerly known as the InfoWorld 100, InfoWorld E-Business 100 appears in the October 16 issue.

Renamed to reflect the annual supplement’s new e-business focus, InfoWorld E-Business 100 features full-page profiles of 10 outstanding e-businesses singled out by the InfoWorld editorial staff from dozens of companies that submitted applications for consideration. In addition to profiling the top 10 e-businesses, InfoWorld E-Business 100 lists 90 “e-businesses to watch” and offers in-depth statistics and information collected from the e-businesses featured in the supplement. InfoWorld E-Business 100 also provides valuable insight and information about formulating an effective e-business strategy. In a special feature, analysts from several leading research firms pinpoint and analyze the elements of a successful e-business model.

“The companies we’ve selected for InfoWorld E-Business 100 have successfully navigated a wide variety of e-business challenges—many of the same daunting issues our readers face every day,” said Trina MacDonald, deputy features editor for InfoWorld. “In the emerging world of e-business, there are often no clear road maps or nicely charted how-tos. InfoWorld E-Business 100 helps readers learn through advice from top industry experts and by example from the most successful e-businesses.”

Unlike previous InfoWorld 100 supplements, judging for the InfoWorld E-Business 100 focused primarily on qualitative versus quantitative criteria such as revenue growth. The companies selected are therefore not ranked.
