IDG’s Network World Collects Another Award For Editorial Excellence
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (July 13, 1998) — Network World, the leading newsweekly of enterprise network computing, is pleased to announce it has been honored with another award in a series of significant editorial honors: the Folio: magazine Editorial Excellence award in the Telecommunications category.
The Folio: magazine Editorial Excellence Awards honor overall excellence and reward achievement in accomplishing a magazine's editorial mission. Entries compete against the standards they set for themselves rather than against each other. Each publication is rated on how well it defines and fulfills its mission statement.
"This is a great honor because these awards recognize publications for excellence in living up to their own editorial mission statements," said Colin Ungaro, president of Network World Inc. "It's also the second time in three years we've won this prestigious award, proving our commitment to deliver the most comprehensive news and analysis to our readers."
"1998 has been a banner year so far for Network World, with the Neal Award for Best single issue of a newspaper or tabloid, runner-up for the Grand Neal Award, and runner-up for Best Trade Weekly or Tabloid at the Computer Press Awards," said John Gallant, editor-in-chief of Network World. "This Folio:Editorial Excellence award is well deserved by our outstanding editorial team. I congratulate and thank everyone for their hard work and dedication to excellence."
Winners of Folio:'s ninth annual Editorial Excellence Awards will be published in Folio: magazine's August 1, 1998 issue, and recognized during the Celebration of Excellence Awards Gala at the culmination of the Folio:Show in New York City, November 4, 1998.
