IDG’s PC World Wins 13 National Awards From the American Society of Business Publication Editors; Award-Winning Publication Also Recognized With Nine Regional ASBPE Awards for Editorial, Online, and Design Excellence

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – JULY 26, 2006 – At a ceremony held in Chicago last week, PC World, the most widely-read magazine among all purchase influencers, was honored with 13 national awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). Presented annually, the awards acknowledge editorial, online, and design excellence in publishing.

The 13 awards — four gold, four silver, and five bronze — reward PC World's accomplishments, both in print and online. As in years past, PC World's dedication to service journalism was a common thread in the winning entries, with the PC World Reviews and Complete Product Listings, The New Security War, and the annual Reliability and Service survey winning a gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. A surprise smash-hit, the online-only article "The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years" ( http://find.pcworld.com/54628 ), took home a gold ASBPE award, and is also one of PCWorld.com's most-viewed stories of all-time.

"We're ecstatic to win these 22 national and regional ASBPE awards," proclaimed Harry McCracken, VP/editor in chief of PC World. "Month after month, the editorial, design, and Test Center teams work collaboratively to produce the highest quality magazine and site possible and I'm thrilled to see that our dedication has paid off. Congratulations to all!"
