Macworld Sees a Successful 2010 Event
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – February 13, 2010 – A successful Macworld 2010 closed today boasting more than 20,000 attendees, over 250 exhibitors who launched dozens of new products and innovations, and more than 150 conference sessions at the most comprehensive training program for the Mac platform, IDG World Expo, owner of Macworld 2010, announced today.
“Macworld gives us the opportunity to share our continued innovations in touch and multi-touch, with technology enthusiasts from around the world,” said SMART Technologies’ Ecosystem Program Manager and Mac Specialist, Chris Klein. “The release of SMART Slate for Mac and the interest from software developers and publishers kept our booth busy and exciting this week. IDG World Expo has put on another fantastic show and we look forward to next year.”

* Exclusive first looks at the best new products for the Apple-products market at “Macworld DEMO: Best of Show” winners included the hottest new-to-market products from TenOne Design, SachManya, Microvision, Canson, Quickoffice and Carina Software. Matt Marshall, editor and CEO of Venture Beat was joined by CEOs and product managers of the winning companies who demoed their products live, on stage and for the first time.New York Times
* author and personal technology columnist David Pogue who hosted LeVar Burton and The Gregory Brothers in his lively ”Late Night with David Pogue” feature presentation that entertained a standing-room only audience with a series of Pogue-esque monologues and skits.
* Alltop.com co-founder Guy Kawasaki hosted industry visionaries from the Apple-products market: Square’s Jack Dorsey, Bing’s Florian Voss, Boinx Software’s Oliver Breidenbach, and HearPlanet’s Steve Echtman.
* Acclaimed author, actor, and filmmaker Kevin Smith hosting an atypical and irreverent Q&A session that loosely touched on topics ranging from perspectives on storytelling, the film industry, the use of technology to create great art to what it takes to survive in the world of independent filmmaking.This WEEK in TECH
* ’s Leo Laporte whose presentation featured a rousing musical performance from Warp 11 and The Byrd’s founder Roger McGuinn.
* Multimedia expert David Biedny hosted “The Photoshop 20th Anniversary” featuring a special panel presentation including Adobe executives: Jerry Harris, co-author of PixelPaint and primary architect of brushing engine in Photoshop 7; Kevin O’Connor, principal, Make Color Behave; and Russell Brown, senior creative director, Adobe Systems.
* “Daring Fireball” publisher John Gruber hosted a feature presentation on “The Gruber 10: Apple’s Top Issues,” featuring Apple’s problems ranging from competition, to Steve Jobs, and computers.
“This is my first year at Macworld but it certainly won’t be my last. I've been unable to attend Macworld in the past but today I needed a break from the books and studying and Macworld has lived up to its billing,” said Jason Agpaoa, a senior at San Francisco State University. “I felt like I was playing in a digital playground.”
Macworld 2011 will be held at the Moscone Center on January 25 – 29, 2011.
