Network World Takes Readers To “The Edge”
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA – JUNE 1, 2000-Leveraging its expertise in networking technology, Network World today announced that on June 5 it will launch The Edge, a combination of new resources designed to provide in-depth coverage of the service provider arena, one of the fastest growing segments of the network market.
The combination of deregulation, massive competitive pressure from multiple new players, and the explosion of new technologies has turned the once staid telecom market into a cauldron of change. High bandwidth options are flourishing, companies are shifting intelligence into the network cloud and beginning to host new services, and the unstoppable Internet Protocol (IP) is making service integration a real possibility. Enterprise network users need to understand how these changes will impact their businesses. It is for that reason Network World created The Edge, a resource devoted to the advances in service-provider networks that are shaking up the old telecom order.
The Edge will offer a wealth of information about companies, services and products that are shaping the edge of the carrier cloud-examining everything from integrated voice/data/video services based on IP to net-based applications and managed services. The Edge will serve Network World's traditional enterprise readership as well as decision-makers in the service provider arena-delivering news, analysis and nformation to help this audience keep pace in this emerging network market. The Edge will consist of:

This Web resource will also cover the latest announcements, product information and corporate maneuvers at the edge of the carrier cloud, as well as provide an online community for service providers.
· A weekly electronic newsletter that will bring news, analysis and insight about The Edge directly to recipients' desktops.
