Salesforce.com To Kick-off SaaScon 2007
FRAMINGHAM, MA – FEBRUARY 13, 2007 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events, today announced that Jim Steele, President, Worldwide Sales and Distribution at salesforce.com will kick off the 2nd annual SaaScon event with an opening keynote entitled "The Future of On-Demand." SaaScon, the gathering place for the software as a service industry, is scheduled to take place April 17-18, 2007 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
During his keynote, Jim will present an overview of the Salesforce on-demand business services model. Beginning with a general overview of how consumer Web applications like Google, Yahoo!, iTunes, eBay and amazon.com are driving The Business Web(TM) to follow suit.
"The Business Web is now in demand and everyday enables more and more companies to realize the power and ease-of-use found in the variety of applications offered to improve the customer experience," said Jim Steele. "With such a distinguished audience, SaaScon is a perfect venue to spread the momentum and growth of The Business Web."
Jim will explain the future of on-demand business services, including the 10 facets of on-demand platforms and the value and benefit of each. He will also demonstrate how on-demand is ideal for many industries because it enables organizations to deliver service from anywhere – at a lower cost, lower risk and faster deployment time than is possible with on-premise solutions. By eliminating the risks and burdens associated with traditional software solutions, the on-demand model enables organizations to provide a truly great experience for their customers.
"SaaScon was created because we saw the fundamental changes that companies like salesforce.com were bringing to the software industry," said Eric Norlin, Conference Chair. "As the SaaS industry has grown, SaaScon has grown, and we're thrilled that Jim Steele will be opening this year's conference."
SaaScon is considered the central gathering place for the software as a service industry, and the one venue that provides a practical snapshot of how to accomplish SaaS implementations now while offering a glimpse of the future. The conference will offer real-world case study examples and strategies of SaaS deployments across a broad spectrum of industries, presented by small to medium size business and enterprise level end-users who have successfully implemented SaaS solutions.
