Special Intrest Boulevard To Return To Macworld Conference & Expo
FRAMINGHAM, MA – APRIL 23, 2001 – IDG World Expo today announced that the upcoming Macworld Conference & Expo, scheduled for July 17 – 20, 2001 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, will feature the return of the Special Interest Boulevard, the popular showcase for Mac developers first introduced at Macworld San Francisco in January 2001.
The Special Interest Boulevard will feature up-and-coming companies looking to showcase new Mac technologies that are targeted to the specific needs and interests of Mac users. The Boulevard, which is limited to 100 exhibitors, will be organized into five distinct industry segments, including:
· Digital Media: applications and solutions for creating, editing, storing and delivering digital media content with Apple's QuickTimeTM technology
· Small Business: products, applications and services geared toward Mac-based small businesses
· Sci-Tech: hardware and software products for mathematics, the pure sciences, engineering and data visualization
· Education/Assistive Technology: software, Internet tools, curriculum building solutions and multimedia for schools, training, K-12 and higher education
· 3D/Animation: 3D technology for film, video, broadcast, game development and location-based entertainment
"The Special Interest Boulevard was such a huge hit at Macworld San Francisco, it only made sense to bring it back for the New York event," said Charlie Greco, president and CEO of IDG World Expo. "Some of the hottest new Mac technologies will be showcased at the Special Interest Boulevard in July. It should be a real magnet for attendees."
