With over 300 million people (and counting) using Twitter, it seems like most announcements are made, seen and shared over the popular social media platform. With the Social Shout Out program, sponsors can place their message and call-to-action in the Twitter feeds of our attentive and engaged audience.

General Specs

  • Runs across the IDG editorial Twitter accounts of your choice (Computerworld, InfoWorld, Network World, CIO, CSO, ITworld, PC World, MacWorld, TechHive)
  • Sponsor provides:
    • The text (115 character maximum, including spaces, approved by IDG)
    • Click-through URL (no character limit, IDG will shorten the URL using Bit.ly which will account for 21 characters in the tweet)
    • Tweet will include a sponsored by hash tag – #Ad: – at the beginning of the Tweet
    • Entire Tweet must be under 140 characters
  • IDG will post the Tweet
    • Limited to one (1) Tweet per week, per sponsor
    • No repeat Tweets allowed in the same month

Reporting

Reporting includes number of re-Tweets and clicks (to be delivered 1 week after the Tweet is first posted)
