CIO Tech Poll: Tech Priorities 2016
The CIO Tech Poll: Tech Priorities study was conducted to gauge for the upcoming year which technology areas will be the focus of IT leaders and to measure the direction of spending within those categories.
Key findings include:
- While not as many may see increased tech budgets, the number seeing tech budgets staying the same has slightly increased – showing that tech budgets are stabilizing for 2016.
- As organizations cautiously try to do more with their data, BI & analytics and security technologies will see the most increased spending in 2016.
- Windows 10 deployments, predictive analytics and internet of things are the areas of greatest new interest for the upcoming year.
- While organizations are primarily using traditional development methods and have minimal plans to implement DevOps, they do use a liaison between business units & the development team to facilitate communication.
The CIO Tech Poll: Tech Priorities study was conducted through the CIO Forum on LinkedIn and the CIO customer database. Results are based on 213 respondents who indicated they are the top IT executive at their company or business unit.
